I will be arriving in Surat by train with my father who is quite elderly and not very well. We would only be staying in Surat for two nights, and I think it would be better to find a hotel which is near the railway station so that we would not have to travel much. I would prefer to get a 3 -4-star hotel, as there would be more comfort in it for my father, the only requirement like mentioned is that it should be near Surat railway station.
