I plan to take my children and nephew and nieces to Wonderla amusement park this summer.

It would be the first time that I would be going to Wonderla Park and there is a lot of information I would like to know before I go there the main being the entry fee charges.

My queries have been put in forms of questions so it would be easy to reply to them.

    1. What is the Wonderla amusement park entry fee in Bangalore?

    2. Are we allowed to take our own food inside the park?

    3. What are the opening and closing times of the park?

    4. Is there accommodation options in the park as well?

    What is Wonderla in Bangalore?

Wonderla is a theme park resort located in the city of Bangalore. It was established in the year 2005 and was the second venture of Wonderla Holidays Limited, a private company. It was Mr. Kochouseph Chittilappilly who founded this theme park, along with the other theme parks in Cochin and Hyderabad. Amongst the many theme parks in India, Wonderla in Bangalore garnered the top spot for the best theme park in India, according to the ranking system of Trip Advisor. With its world-class dry and wet rides, Wonderla in Bangalore is a renowned getaway for both locals and foreign tourists. The best part? Safety and cleanliness are two aspects that the theme park resort excels in, making it a family-friendly destination as well.

Where is Wonderla Located in Bangalore?

Wonderla is located in Jadenahalli in Bangalore, specifically in the Mysore Road. It is about 35 kilometres to the southwestern side of the city centre of Bangalore. From the city centre, just take the NICE Bangalore Mysore Expressway then take a turn into the Mysore Road to reach the theme park. The nearest railway station to the theme park is the Hejjala Railway Station, which is about 4.2 kilometres away. There are usually direct trains from the Bengaluru City Junction Railway Station to the Hejjala Railway Station. From the latter, you can just ride an auto rickshaw or taxi to reach the theme park. There are also Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses that ply from the city centre to the theme park proper. These buses usually start from the Majestic Bus Stand around 10:00 in the morning and the frequency is every 30 minutes.

What is the Overall Vibe of Wonderla in Bangalore?

Spread over 82 acres of land is the fun theme park of Wonderla. This is Bangalore's largest theme park and easily the most popular as well. With over 60 dry and wet rides to choose from, you're bound to have an adventure of a lifetime here. For the little ones, there are various statues of animals such as pigs, elephants, rabbits and more that would take their attention away. The surrounding greenery in the form of plants and trees provide for a nice respite from the concrete jungles of the city. The varying colours of the rides provide some nice contrast to the surrounding greenery. The highest attraction, the ferris wheel, stands atop of a tower, which is probably the most unique ride of the theme park. The overall vibe of the theme park is delightful, with a positive and fun atmosphere to it.

What are the Attractions in the Amusement Park?

The Amusement Park is located on the northern part of Wonderla. This section can be subdivided into three areas, namely: High Thrill Rides, Land Rides and Kids Rides. The High Thrill Rides are suitable only for teens and adults who are brave enough for the adrenaline-pumping attractions here. The Flash Tower ride can surely test your courage with heights, as it takes you first to a height of around 131 feet before dropping you suddenly. The vibrant Equinox would swing you round and round until you're dizzy enough. Insanity would literally drive you insane as the robot-like ride would twist and turn you into every angle possible. Other twisty rides like Hurricane, Y-Scream, Maverick and Mixer are also worth trying out. Still other rides like Drop Zone and Bamba can test your limits when it comes to big drops.

Next is the Land Rides, which has an assortment of family and adult rides. The usual rides like Pirate Ship, Wonder Splash, Termite Coaster & Train and Crazy Cars I & II are available here. There are also some unique rides that you can't miss. The Hang Glider is the cable car, which can take you on a joy ride through the entire park. Round and round rides like the Techno Jump, Toon Tango and Crazy Wagon can also be enjoyed by the whole family. The Sky Wheel, a ferris wheel amidst a tower, is also located in this area. There are also other attractions here like two 3D Cinemas, Dungeon Ride, Net Walk and Indoor Musical Fountain Show.

The last area for this section is the Kids Rides, which has an assortment of safe rides for the little ones. Smaller versions of adult rides like the Mini Pirate Ship, Kiddies Wheel, Mini Express and Funky Monkey (Drop Ride) are available here. Round and round rides like Magic Mushroom, Mini Venice, Merry Ghost, Jumping Frog, Flying Jumbo, Lion Swing and Carousel are safer alternatives to the round and round rides of the of the Land Rides area. There's also the Mini Express, a toy train ride, and the Convoy, a truck trail ride. The Moon Walker is a large bouncy slide suitable for frolic and enjoyment of the little ones.

Of special mention is the park's newest thrilling ride, the Recoil. This is situated at the far eastern corner of the park. Dubbed as India's very first reverse looping rollercoaster, this exciting ride has two track ramps about 130 feet in height. The rollercoaster cabin crosses the first ramp and takes you on a thrilling loop ride. But that's not all, it crosses the second ramp before finally taking you on another thrilling loop ride, but this time, backwards! This is the newest offering of the theme park for the thrill seekers.

What are the Attractions in the Water Park?

The Water Park is located on the southern part of Wonderla. This section can be subdivided into two areas, namely: Water Rides and High Thrill Water Rides. The Water Rides has various fun but safe attractions. There are two Wave Pools located in the western side of the park. For the children, there are also two Play Pools with buckets, sprinklers and canopied shades with falling water. Just near to these children's pools is the Jungle Lagoon, with a series of candy-cane coloured open and tube slides. The water here is very shallow too, suitable for the little ones. There's a central tree house play area where the little ones can climb and play.

Onto the centre of the park, there's the Banded Kraits. These are a series of tube and open slides that you need to traverse using a raft. The slides are spiral and candy-cane coloured as well. Next to them is the Twisters, which are four slides of varying loops and spirals that the adventure seekers can thoroughly enjoy. The Cornetto slide is just next to these former slides and is one of the newest additions of the park to their fun set of slides. This almost cone-like shaped slide drops the guest unto a back and forth platform before finally reaching the water.

Other fun slides are the Boomerang, Water Pendulum, Hara Kiri and Racers. For the Racers, you have both Fun Racers and Uphill Races. In these slides, a series of about four to five slides are put side by side so you can enjoy racing with your friends or loved ones. The Lazy River is just to the south of all of these slides. This laid-back ride can take you through varying nature-like attractions like trees, alligators and even unique ones like a lion's mouth and a skull. The Rain Dance is yet another fun attraction here that both the young and old enjoy.

For the High Thrill Water Rides, there are mainly two attractions here. First is the Vertical Fall, which is mainly a narrow, open slide that drops off the guest at a high point into a small puddle. Second is the Wavy Fall, which is a narrow, open slide that has some curves unto it, also dropping off the guest at a high point and then into a small puddle.

This restaurant offers South Indian cuisine dishes to guests, with varieties in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Near the entrance, but inside the park premises, are two more options, Five Star Chicken and Chillies Restaurant. The former serves mainly chicken dishes while the latter serves both Indian and Chinese cuisines dishes.

In the Amusement Park side, there are two main restaurants that you can choose from. First is the Greens Restaurant, which is the theme park's vegetarian only dining option. The famous pizza chain, Papa John's is also located in this section. On the central part of the theme park is the Courtyard Restaurant. This restaurant serves mainly Indian and Chinese dishes.
