Best Italian restaurants in Delhi

    I have recently had some homemade Italian food made by my cousin who came from Italy, and I have become a fan of Italian food.
    I want to find out what the best Italian restaurants in Delhi are and their location. I don't want to know about the desi style Italian places but the authentic Italian restaurants.

    Delhi, the bustling capital of the country, has a lot to offer when it comes to dining experiences. Whether you fancy Indian cuisine, Chinese cuisine or yes, even Italian cuisine, you'd find such places in here. Recently, a bunch of Italian restaurants have emerged in the city. But which of these restaurants are wirth trying out? Here's a list of the best Italian restaurants around Delhi to try out:

    1. Caffe Tonino - This restaurant has several branches in Delhi aside from this one in Connaught Place. They have mainly Italian cuisine and their specialty is their pizza. They also offer delivery services to guests. In their menu, there's a separate area for breakfast, which mainly has waffles and pancakes. Aside from pizzas, they have a variety of salads, sandwiches and pastas too. Ambience-wise, the restaurant has wooden flooring and furnitures. Walls are bricked with a few decors as well. The restaurant has moderate prices for their meals, making it a great option for couples, families or even friends.
    • Must try dishes - Penne with chicken in cream sauce, vegetarian square pizza and focaccia ferdure.

    2. NYC Pie - One good feature of this Italian restaurant is that it is open from lunch until the wee hours of the morning. Their menu has a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian pizzas. There's also some pasta dishes in the menu, although not that extensive. You can also opt for added toppings, in case you're that person who enjoys loads and loads of toppings in their pizza. Ambience-wise, the restaurant is a bit cozy but small. There's an outdoor seating as well which is a good option when it's colder season.

    3. Spago - For posh Italian dining, there's Spago, located in the Greater Kailash area of Delhi. With its rustic and elegant interiors, accented by the turquoise furnitures, you would feel the elegance of the restaurant. As soon as you take your seat, you'd be served with garlic breads which would start your gastronomic dining experience in the restaurant. The variety of dishes in the menu would render you confuse, with the pastas, pizzas, sandwiches, chicken dishes, pork dishes and many more. And the variety of desserts would leave you speechless as well. If anything, you cannot go wrong with their pizzas, crunchy, thin-crust and overloaded with toppings. Their pastas have received high praises as well, with fresh ingredients and oozing with flavour. There's nothing more authentic than the Italian dishes of Spago, that's for sure.

The vibe of the restaurant is almost like you're in a European country. The outdoor seating areas have draped canopies which add to the romantic setting of the place. The dim lighting provides guests with quite a quaint and lovely ambience. Aside from the Italian cuisine, the restaurant also has some Spanish dishes in the menu. Their menu has pizzas, pastas, risottos, soups, paellas, main course dishes and appetisers. Meals here are authentically Italian but they are priced quite higher. Portions are quite small as well but they do make up for it with the taste. So if ever with you're that special someone, do try out dining at Sevilla and you're sure to fall in love more with each other.

    5. Tres - Dubbed as the hidden Italian gem of Delhi, Tres, at first glance, doesn't look quite upscale. Even the signboard outside of the restaurant isn't quite inviting and as you enter, no elegant decors would greet you. However, beyond these lacking qualities, the food here is outstanding. Every meal here is presented quite aesthetically and won't disappoint you when it comes to taste as well. So go ahead, order whatever you fancy, because the truth is, every dish here is worth trying out. Their speciality dishes are mainly the pastas and lamb dishes though.
    • Must try dishes - Linguini pasta with grilled zucchini, slow braised lamb and chilli garlic king prawns & calamari.

    6. Cafe Parmesan - One of the best rated Italian restaurants in Delhi, Cafe Parmesan lives up to its name. From the Italian decors to the Italian cuisine, it will take you to Europe in an instant. Every dish here is worth trying out but the pizzas are especially delicious. The combination of the crust, toppings and sauce will leave you wanting more. Every bite will make you realise just how delicious and worth it their pizzas are. Their pastas are also well-cooked, flavourful and aromatic. They also have a variety of desserts that you can try out but the best one has to be their cheesecake.

One difference of the restaurant is its use of the spices for their dishes is minimal. This gives their dishes an authentic Italian taste, relying mostly on the freshness of the ingredients to stand out. Aside from their delectable pastas, do try out their meats and chicken dishes which are equally satisfying.

    8. Diggin - This quirky Italian cafe is slowly gaining popularity. It's easily visible from the outside, with its bricked facade and huge windows. The entire cafe is also surrounded by plants, which add to the beauty of it. The quirkiness continues inside with a bricked kitchen, hanging lights and walls designed with trees. Soups, coffee, salads, tea, pasta, risotto, pizza and many more, these are the dishes that would greet you as you look into the menu. Their shakes are worth trying out as well as the delicious cupcakes. For a simple or casual day out, Diggin is the place to be. Their rates are incredibly affordable too for an Italian restaurant.

    9. Bella Italia - This restaurant has many branches in London and its first branch in India was opened in Holiday Inn in Delhi. Just by this fact alone, you know that the restaurant serves authentic Italian dishes. Their menu is very extensive with starters, salads, pizzas, pastas, burgers, grilled dishes, desserts, shakes and gelato. Their pizzas are baked to perfection, crunchy yet still soft, with the right spices and loaded with delicious toppings. If you love cheese, then there are plenty of dishes here to support the cheese lover in you as well. There are also many vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes on the menu. Being a restaurant in a popular luxury hotel, ambience is quite elegant and classy here too. Bella Italia might be a new hotel in the country but history-wise, it has been serving great Italian dishes in Europe for a while now.

    10. Cafe Amaretto - If you're someone who loves clean and minimalistic design, then Cafe Amaretto would fit right in the bill. With its pure white interiors and comfortable seating, you're bound to feel right at home in this cafe. Exquisite paintings are displayed on the wall, which bring some beauty to the cafe. Their menu is also very basic but has a variety of Italian dishes to entice you. When in doubt, there's the usual pastas but if feeling quite adventurous, they also have grilled dishes in the menu. For those who love sweets, there's a separate desserts section as well. Pizzas here are baked in a brick over, wonderfully crusty and tasty. And oh, they bake their own bread as well, as if that would interest anyone.;p
