A group of us want to go Shirdi for darshan, and we know there is a weather difference in the western part of India. I do not want it to be too hot or too cold so please suggest when it is the best time of the year to visit Shirdi. We would be traveling by train from Meerut.

You can go anytime of the year the weather stays quite good all year round, apart from the months of June, July and August which are quite hot.

During this month the weather would be quite hot, and the best time to visit would be in from September when it wont be as hot.

During the months of June and July monsoons start and it becomes very humid. Winters are not so cold there so going during the months of December to March is also a good option.

Currently the weather is very pleasant in Shirdi, as the monsoons have started there is humidity but the temperature has dropped, so it is the kind of weather where you would only need a fan and no ac.

People go to Shirdi mostly to visit the temples there and it is mostly a short visit. Weather is pleasant all year round apart from end of May to the end of June, those 40-45 days can get a bit hot but other then that its all good.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Generally, Shirdi has a pleasant climate all-year round. But I'm going to give you a little breakdown of the different seasons in Shirdi and when would be the best time to visit the place. Here they are:
    • Winter season is from the months of November to February. This is considered as the best time to visit Shirdi. Although it's a bit colder, it's not freezing and you can tolerate the climate. Temperature ranges from 9°C to 25°C. Sightseeing can be done during this time as it isn't as hot or as cold. Just bring your jackets and woollens in case you might need them. This is also the peak season for tourists.
    • Summer season is from the months of March to May. Temperature ranges as well but it can get as high as 40°C. It's not a great time to visit Shirdi during this time as sightseeing might prove to be uncomfortable.
    • Monsoon season is from the months of June to August. There are moderate rainfalls and showers during these months. It's still a great time to visit Shirdi although bring your umbrella and raincoat with you.
You can also visit Shirdi during the festivals celebrated here:
    • Guru Purnima in July. This is the most important festival in Shirdi celebrating the Guru Sai Baba.
    • Ramnavami in April. A celebration for both the Hindu and Muslim religions.
    • Vijayadashmi in October. This is the day when Guru Sai Baba left his mortal body and went into heaven.
    I hope this helps!
