Overview
If you are not that luxurious or someone who wants to spend least on train journey, you can opt for the Garib Rath line of trains. The Garib Rath line of trains are fast and fully air-conditioned trains which are not priced as high as in the higher class of trains. In a way, it's like a middle-class train suitable for those who want to save some money during their transport. There are three-tier seats available but they have lesser space as compared to normal AC trains. Journey duration is fast too but not as fast as compared to fast express trains. There are some Garib Rath trains from Delhi to Mumbai too, as well as other cities in India.
Delhi to Mumbai Garib Rath Trains
The distance between Delhi and Mumbai is about 1,416 kilometres. Driving this distance can take around 22 hours, more or less. Train journey is a bit more unpredictable, even with the Garib Rath line of trains. However, do expect journey duration to be a bit longer than usual. There are two Garib Rath trains plying between Delhi and Mumbai. They originate from different railway stations in Delhi too but terminate at the Bandra Terminus in Mumbai.

The first one is the Delhi Sarai Rohilla Garib Rath Bandra Terminus Train No. 12215. It departs from the Delhi Sarai Rohilla Railway Station at 9:20 and arrives in Bandra Terminus Railway Station at 8:10. It has 16 halts in between and has a journey duration of 22 hours and 50 minutes. It has schedules four times in a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Its delay is just about 16 minutes, more or less. Fares are around Rs. 1,015 for an adult and around Rs. 510 for a child, both are 3AC seats.
The second one is the Hazrat Nizamuddin Garib Rath Bandra Terminus Train No. 12910. It departs from the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station at 15:35 and arrives in the Bandra Terminus Railway Station at 8:10. It has 7 halts in between and has a journey duration of about 16 hours and 35 minutes. It only has three schedules in a week: Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. The average delay is about 30 minutes and fares are around Rs. 1,000 for adults and Rs. 505 for children, for the 3AC seats. For the AC Chair, fares are around Rs. 874 for adults and Rs. 440 for children.
Conclusion
As you can see from the above table, the Hazrat Nizamuddin Garib Rath Bandra Terminus Train No. 12910 has a shorter journey duration at 16 hours and 35 minutes. It also has fewer halts but it only runs three times in a week. It also has two seat options, 3AC or AC Chair. On the other hand, the Delhi Sarai Rohilla Garib Rath Bandra Terminus Train No. 12215 has a longer journey duration at about 22 hours and 50 minutes. But it runs four times a week and has a very low average delay. It has only one type of seat available though which is 3AC.
