I have been making inquiries over the phone about some dress in India, and a few of the costs have been mentioned in lakhs. We don't use lakh in Canada, so I have no idea of how much is a lakh. I hope I hope it's not something very simple which I do not understand like mentioned before we don't use lakhs and use of hundreds and thousands when talking about large numbers. I need to convert the Indian amount into Canadian dollars so please explain how much a lakh is so that I can proceed with my purchases.
It is very simple, but I understand that you don't know as I have relatives abroad and they had the same problem before they didn't know. Rs1,00,000 is 1 lakh. Rs150,000 is the same as Rs1.5 lakh. Where you would day a hundred thousand, here it is said as one lakh.
