I am looking to book an overnight dessert camp in Jaisalmer, where we would be provided camps to stay in the dessert overnight. I have not been to Jaisalmer before and need advise from those who have been there, to which desert camp we should go for. We would like to get experience of other things as well like camel rides, the local food and the camp fire, so I am hoping this all would be included in the camp.

You have three choices the first is Sam Sand Dunes, the other is Damodra Desert Camp and the third is Khuri Oasis Desert Resort. All three have different pricing so the choice would purely depend on your budget.

Are these dessert places all the same or do they differ in anyway?

The only way they differ is just like a hotel differs, the services and what they provide to the customers, but otherwise they are pretty much the same.

    Dhruv you missed a few:
    Jaisalmer Desert Camp,
    Mirvana Nature Resort and Camp,
    Royal Desert Camp and
    Winds Desert Camp.

Some camps provide over night stays, some day stays and the night stays provide food as well, camel riding is provided and according to each camp provided some rides are conducted during the day and some during the evening, so yes they do differ according to the services provided.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

You have many options when it comes to overnight desert camps in Jaisalmer. Here's a few that I can recommend to you:

    Luxury Overnight Desert Camps
    • The Serai Desert Camp. If you have the money to spare, consider this luxurious camp in Jaisalmer, The Serai. They have huge tents, averaging a thousand feet each. Inside these tents are: a bedroom, a bathroom and a sitting area. They call these tents the "Luxury Tented Suites." Their Royal Suites are more luxurious, with its own private spa, outdoor pool and even separate dining/lounging tents. The Serai is open from March to September. Expect to pay anywhere between Rs. 35,700 to Rs. 70,000. The camp is about 53 kms from Jaisalmer. Address is at Bherwa Village, Chandan, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan 345001.
    • Prince Desert Camp. Another luxurious camp in Jaisalmer. They also have tents with its own bathroom and bedroom. They even provide heating for rooms during cold nights. Rates vary but start at about Rs. 5,000 per night. Location is at Lakhmana Road, Sam Sand Dunes, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan 345001.
    • Damodra Desert Camp. Relatively new to the scene, the Damodra Desert Camp isn't far behind the game. They also offer luxurious tent accommodations with AC, Western-style bathroom and even meals. Rates start at Rs. 10,000 per night. Location is at V.P.O Damodra, Sam Road, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan 34500.
    Affordable Overnight Desert Camps
    • Oasis Camp Sam. They offer tented accommodations as well for a cheaper price at Rs. 2,000 per night. They still have their own bathrooms and bedrooms as well. Location is at Sam Sand Dunes, Village - Sam, Jaisalmer - Sam - Dhanana Rd, Kanoi, Rajasthan 345001.
    • Phabu Ki Dhani Eco Farm. If you want to truly experience village life, then consider this place. Bathrooms here are shared and there's only solar electricity. The owners do provide great service though when it comes to food and hospitality. Rates start at Rs. 2,500 per person. Location is at Pohra, Baramsar Jaisalmer, Rajasthan 345001.
All of these camps offer camel safaris, folk music and dances, campfire and of course, meals. You'd have to pay extra for some of them though. I hope this helps!
