There is a GRS Fantasy Park in Mysore, and I would love to take my family there during the holiday season. I know some parks charge a lot of money for the entry fee of their parks and I would like to make sure that that the GRS park entry fee isn't too high.

Please can members be kind enough to provide the GRS Fantasy Park Mysore entry fee details, please also include any special discounts and offers as well.

    Thank you.

What is the GRS Fantasy Park in Mysore?

The GRS Fantasy Park is a venture of the Baliga Investments, founded by Subraya Baliga and his daughter, Pushpalatha Baliga. It is a theme park, with combination of both dry rides and water rides. It was established in 1999 so it has been in existence for around 18 years now. It is noted for being the only theme park within the city limits hence popular amongst locals. It might not be as big as the theme parks of Bangalore but its compactness appeals to many families who just have a little time away from their busy city life. In fact, you can cover most of its attractions within a day with proper planning. That's why this guide is necessary, to help you plan your trip to Mysore's pride, the GRS Fantasy Park.

Where is the GRS Fantasy Park Located in Mysore?

The GRS Fantasy Park is located in Metagalli, off the KRS Road of Mysore. It is about 15 kilometres away from the city centre of Mysore or around 30 minutes of driving, more or less. You can take the KRS Road itself to reach the theme park if you have your own vehicle. The nearest landmark is the Mysore Institute of Commerce & Arts which is merely two minutes of walking away from the theme park. The nearest railway station is the Mysore Junction Railway Station, six kilometres away from the theme park. There are trains from Bangalore, Chennai, Tirupati and other cities to this railway station. The Falcon Gate Bus Stop is merely 1.5 kilometres from the theme park and there are regular buses from the city centre to this bus stop. Alternatively, the GRS Fantasy Park management also operates shuttle services from various points in the city up to the theme park.

What is the Overall Vibe of GRS Fantasy Park?

Fun and merry, that is the overall vibe of the GRS Fantasy Park. From its brightly hued entrance gate of pink, peach and purple, you're sure to be lured in. Statues of inviting animals, except for one growling lion, are located within the entrance and inside the theme park. The ever famous gorilla statue here holding a banana won't be passed up by the on-looker for a photo opportunity. Paved walkways and lush greenery everywhere are just added features that ensure you'd have a scenic time here, away from the concrete jungles of the city. The well-themed dry rides and the varied coloured wet rides are truly inviting, whether you're young or maybe young at heart.

What are the Attractions in the Amusement Park?

We begin with the dry rides since it's best to complete them prior to enjoying the wet rides, else you won't be allowed to ride the former while being wet. One thing to keep in mind is that the rides, both dry and wet, are scattered around the premises, they are not categorised accordingly so there's going to be lots of walking involved. The Amusement Park can be divided into three sections, namely: Kids Rides, Family Rides and Thrill Rides. The Kids Rides only have four attractions. There's the usual Carousel, which has the classic horses and carriage seats, the Caterpillar, another classic mini version of a rollercoaster ride, and the Baby Train, a toy train that won't be passed up by the little ones. There's also a Play Area here guarded by the gorilla statue with various slides and swings to keep the babies busy for a while.

The Family Rides section contain dry rides that are suitable for the whole family. The classic but fun rides such as Dashing Car (Bumper Cars) and Swing Chair (Giant Swing) can be found here. Telecombat is a round and round ride mimicked around the design of a space rocket. The 5D Virtual is a paid attraction wherein a film would be shown while 5D effects of the wind blowing, water splashing and chair rocking can be enjoyed by the guest. Don't forget the Thunder Slide, a dry slide with bumps along the way. Test your physical fitness with other attractions like Rock Climbing and Catapult. Thrill Rides section comprise of three dry rides which are Columbia (Pirate Boat Ride), Dragon's Den (Innovative Dark Ride) and Music Bob (Round and Round Ride).

What are the Attractions in the Water Park?

Next we have the Water Park, which can also be divided into the same sections: Kids Rides, Family Rides and Thrill Rides. For the Kids Rides, there's the Kids Pool, located at the far eastern side of the Water Park. With a number of small slides and shallow water, kids can frolic here for the whole day. Atlantis is a spiral and curved slide sure to provide for dizzying fun. Other slides in this area are a Ramp Slide (Wide Open Slide), Aqua Bowl (Tube Slide) and Aqua Trail (Straight Narrow Slide).

For the Family Rides, you can start with the Jal Tharang or the Wave Pool, located just close to the Entrance Plaza. It's easy to spot because of the medieval rock edifice at its one end. Enjoy the rush of the artificial waves which are done on sets all throughout the day. The Hawaiian Paradise is a huge play pool with tilting buckets, slides and falling water that would sure be enjoyed by friends or families. The Multi-Lane Slide lets the guest slide face first, tummies within a mat, you can even race with your friends and see who lands on the water first. The Float Slide is a fun spiral slide that you can ride with a raft. Other attractions here are Snow Sledge, Aqua Dance Floor and Lazy River. A hit with all guests is the Red Indian Waterfalls, a manmade waterfalls themed around a rock-cut replica of a true blue American Indian.

The Thrill Rides are only for the brave souls. The very colourful almost candy cane looking Aqua Racer would get your heart speeding past as you traverse through a long curving tube slide only to be let out by the end. The Aqua Tornado is a funnel-shaped slide that would rock you back and forth before finally pushing you out, just like a real funnel! Get wet and enjoy the ride through the forests of the Amazonia, an attraction that would not only thrill you but make you understand about the importance of nature. Slides such as the Free Fall Crazy Cruise and the Wavy Crazy Cruise would take you high only to drop you off at the same height. The Pendulum would make you feel hypnotised, taking you to and fro then vice versa.
