I interested in staying at the Hotel Jaipur House in Mount Abu and would like to get some more information about it.

The first information I would like to know is what types of rooms are available?

I would also like to know what the food quality if like, especially the breakfast as we would be having breakfast at the hotel during our stay there.

What is the Hotel Jaipur House?

The Hotel Jaipur House is a heritage property located in Mount Abu. Once the summer retreat of the royal family of Jaipur, the mansion has now been converted into a hotel. For lovers of history who want to get that rare glimpse of the royal lifestyle or maybe for the individuals who would just want to experience how to be royalty for a few days, this hotel is your best option for that. It does help that the property is located in the best area in Mount Abu, overlooking the beautiful Nakki Lake itself. This combination of heritage, royalty and nature is very rare, which is why the Hotel Jaipur House is a popular choice amongst tourists of the only hill station of Rajasthan, Mount Abu.

Where is the Hotel Jaipur House Located?

The Hotel Jaipur House is located to the southern bank of the Nakki Lake. Specifically, it is located at the Sunset Point Road in Mount Abu, close to the Sophia High School. The nearest railhead to the property is the Abu Road Railway Station, which is around 28 kilometres away. There are direct trains from this railway station to and from other cities like Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur and many more. There are usually local RSRTC buses that ply from the railway station to Mount Abu. These buses originate from other cities of Rajasthan like Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur and more. Thus, you can also reach the hotel by bus from these cities. These buses usually drop off passengers at the RSRTC Bus Stand, which is just under two kilometres away from the Hotel Jaipur House.

What is the Overall Vibe of the Hotel Jaipur House?

Being a heritage property, the Hotel Jaipur House has a more traditional architectural design. There are two buildings in the property, so-called wings, which can be named, the New Wing and the Old Wing. Of the two, the Old Wing exudes more of the royal era vibe, as this was the original mansion of the Jaipur royal family. The Old Wing has a creamy yellow facade and exhibits Rajput architecture, especially with its domes, arched entrances and delicate murals. The New Wing has a more modern design, from the facade up to the interiors, this is also where the newer Standard Rooms are located. The two wings are located quite a few minutes away from one another though. The hotel also has a very vibrant garden area, where you can enjoy the lush greenery enveloping the premises. With this mixture of heritage and modernity, along with nature, the overall vibe is very relaxed and charming.

What are the Room Options in the Hotel Jaipur House?

There are three room options in the Hotel Jaipur House. As mentioned above, the Standard Rooms are located in the New Wing. The Deluxe Rooms and Suites are located in the Old Wing. In comparison, the New Wing has more modern interiors and amenities but doesn't provide for any views whether in the rooms or in the outside area. The Old Wing is the main heritage section, so the interiors are on the traditional side and the views of the lake from the terrace are quite stunning.

Room Tariffs for Hotel Jaipur House

    Room TypeLocationTariffInclusions
Standard RoomNew WingRs. 3,500Complimentary Breakfast + WiFi Access
Deluxe RoomOld WingRs. 5,000Complimentary Breakfast + WiFi Access

For the Standard Room, it costs Rs. 3,500 per night. For the Deluxe Room, it costs Rs. 5,000 per night. For the Suite, it costs Rs. 6,000 per night. All these rates include a complimentary breakfast along with access to the WiFi. The interiors of the Standard Room are very basic, with just white-washed walls and a few modern amenities like television and air conditioning. For the other rooms, the Deluxe Room and Suite, the interiors are very regal, with the wooden furnitures and huge windows with draped curtains.

What are the Dining Options in the Hotel Jaipur House?

The hotel has its own multi-cuisine restaurant, serving mostly North Indian dishes, with some Chinese and Continental ones as well. The restaurant also offers a great view of the surrounding valleys and town of Mount Abu. If you want more stunning views, you can have your meals served at the rooftop dining area as well. Their restaurant also serves buffet breakfast and buffet dinner, but the spread isn't as extensive so you might be disappointed. Instead, opt for the ala carte meals, like the best seller dish, Khichdi. If ever you get tired of the dishes from the in-house restaurant, there are some dining options outside as well.

What are the Facilities in the Hotel Jaipur House?

The facilities in the hotel are very limited. First, you have the garden area where you can enjoy strolling with your loved ones or special someone. There are some sitting areas around as well so you can enjoy relaxing while being surrounded by greenery. For a more picturesque view, you can head to the rooftop terrace, where you can view the entire Mount Abu, including the Nakki Lake, quite clearly. There are also sitting areas along with tables here so that you can enjoy your meals or snacks while basking in the view.

Internet is available in the reception area though signal is on the weaker side. At this area, there's also a safety deposit box where you can leave your valuables in if you intend to do some sightseeing around the hill station. Other facilities like power back-up, fax, doctor on call and medicines are also available in the hotel. The property is missing the usual business centre, conference halls and spa, that most properties offer to guests for additional charges.

Services like room service, laundry and dry cleaning can be availed from the staff for a surcharge. As mentioned above, there's a restaurant too but it doesn't operate 24 hours so if you get hungry late in the night or in the wee hours of the morning, you have to venture out to fill your tummy's desires.

    What is the Verdict?

The Hotel Jaipur House is strictly a three-star property with limited facilities and amenities. It does provide the best view of Mount Abu and its attractions, as it is located upon a hillock. Rates here are on the higher side especially for the Suites but they're very much worth it. If staying here, it's best to avail of either the Deluxe Room or Suite, so that you can enjoy the royalty vibe and the exquisite views. But if on a budget, the Standard Room will do, you just have to lower your standards a bit. Meals here are on the average size, though some dishes stand out. Nearby restaurants can fill the gaps in this area that the hotel doesn't really fare well.

Good luck and I hope this helps you!:)
